Missing You, Missing Me
As you may have noticed the only recent updates have been photos from several expeditions I’ve taken lately. I know, I’m a horrible blog master and should be writing and posting much more often. Alas, that isn’t happening at the moment. Yours truly has decided to return to school for a better higher education. I’ll be focusing on Networks and Communications and hoping to achieve a BS in the field. My ultimate goal is to prepare for, and eventually take, my CCNP. So yes, things around here will be a bit slow for the next, ohh two years or so. Don’t worry though. I do plan on being more diligent and posting a bit more often. It’s all a matter of scheduling.
So, lately I’ve been doing more and more photo walking. I’ve gotten some good shots in the last few weeks, or so I’m told. I’ll post some of them here in awhile. Feel free to comment or question or send hatred or whatever the case may be.
I plan on taking requests soon. Please think of a photographic ‘project’ you may have in mind. I’m trying to learn and the best way is by doing. My creative filters will be partly blown away by my schooling so I’d love some help. Also, I plan on doing some portrait work soon. Headshots, glamour, seniors, teens, pseudo-candids (Posed candids if you prefer), and general portrait work. I’m very fascinated by people and I’d love start capturing them. What do I want? A few shots or a few hundred shots of you. I’d like a model release in case I ever make it big. With a model release maybe me and you (the subject, duh) can both get our 15 minutes of fame if I ever get to work for National Geographic or whatever. What do you get? Well, again if I make a break and get published you’ll get your 15 minutes of fame. I’ll give you a few prints for free of the size of your choosing and the JPEG’s from the shoot so you can reprint as much as you like. They are pictures of you, right?
So let me know what you think, and if you’re local to Southern California (San Diego to Santa Barbara) drop me a line and I’ll be happy to come and see you and we can fire off a ‘session’.
That’s it for now. Enjoy the coming photos and projects.
Thomas Hawk Kicked Out of San Francisco MOMA
Not too long ago I found a new blog. It’s a great blog being written by Thomas Hawk. Thomas is a San Francisco area photographer who has some pretty awesome work. He certainly inspired me to continue to learn the true power behind my Canon EOS 40D. I have started shooting as often as I can and am trying to post on this blog here, my Flickr site, and Deviant Art.
I have not yet encountered many issues as a photographer. No one has bothered me, hassled me, pushed me around, etc. Recently, Thomas Hawk was kicked out of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art for … well … taking pictures. I am linking to that blog post for you all to read. I think people like Simon (read up, you’ll see) are total assholes. I agree with Thomas and feel bad that he had to go through what he did. It’s a shame to see things like this happen.
Thomas Hawk posts on getting booted from the San Francisco MOMA.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Keep a look out for me if you will be near San Diego, CA. I’ll be walking around the piers and harbor trying to be a better photographer. =)
